JOHN OLDHAM: When someone's injured in a car accident, they should call their insurance agent and report their claim. They should call their law firm or their lawyer and to help them answer questions. And they should also call their doctor and set up an appointment with their doctor.
GREG SMITH: I would suggest that people get their advice and counsel from an experienced lawyer, someone who's handled these types of cases, certainly not from law enforcement, insurance company, or some other person that was involved in an accident in the past. They really should be getting their advice and council from an experienced lawyer. Beside the obvious in fighting for them and protecting their rights, lawyers who are experienced in auto accident cases, motor vehicle crashes, typically will have a network of doctors that specialize in the type of injuries that people get from car crashes. The top priority of an attorney should be just to help their client. That's not hard to do if you have the experience. And it's not hard to do if you're willing to sit down with your client and go through the process with them and speak with them directly.
