Florida Woman Killed In Chain Reaction Accident

When people are driving, it’s not uncommon for them to want to pass other vehicles. Perhaps the driver in front of them is a little too slow for their taste. In any case, when passing another vehicle it’s important that drivers survey the scene to make sure it’s safe to do so. There should be no oncoming traffic in the other lane. If a driver isn’t paying attention when passing, tragic car accidents can result.

A Florida woman was killed over the weekend in a crash that involved one driver’s attempt to pass another vehicle. The accident happened on County Road 318 not far from U.S. Highway 441. The 23-year-old driver of a Maxima apparently tried to pass another vehicle in the westbound lane.

That driver apparently crossed the double yellow line and lost control when he encountered another vehicle. It’s believed he was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time. After sideswiping a Lexus, the driver of the Altima collided with a 1991 Mazda in the eastbound lane. That vehicle was driven by a 46-year-old woman.

She was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital following the accident. The driver of the Lexus was not injured in the crash. The driver of the Altima apparently suffered serious injuries after he was ejected from the vehicle, which apparently rolled over several times. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, he will likely be facing charges for his role in the accident.
